AFC Dunstable

The last couple of weeks have seen a rather exciting end to the season after a year of real hard work from all the lads and the coaches and at last the rewards that we have spoken of have finally been realised.

U10 Sunday Team

After a massively competitive campaign in the Bedfordshire Mini Soccer League the Sunday team finally clinched the title in a nail biting decider at home to the previous champions Brickhill Wanderers with a 1-0 score.

Its fair to say that Division 1 has been ultra competitive this year with the gap from the top to the bottom closing drastically and this has meant that the lads have had to put it in every single week or be beaten. The county league was always the big one that we wanted to win the most but it still feels disappointing that we fell at the semi-final hurdle against a good Leighton Town team in the cup.

However in the end our consistency and strength of squad saw us through as we are crowned the deserved Champions! Well done boys!

U10 Saturday Team

At the time of writing we still have 5 games to play in the MKDJ7s Saturday league and are still in with a shout of winning it but realistically hope to finish as runners-up. However our primary target this year was to reach the League Cup final at the Stadium MK and after a nail-biting semi-final (also against Leighton Town) we won through on penalties and are all very excited at the prospect of playing the final at one of the stadia included within England's world cup bid on May 9th.

The Saturday team has provided us with an excellent platform to integrate another 5 players into the squad and they have not failed to grab it with both hands.

Overall as we finish the season with our squad of 16 players we are superbly placed to progress into our 11 aside adventure. Like all squads there will be some small movement in and out but overall we will benefit from the consistency of a settled squad.

The year has been an absolute resounding success for all of the lads and we are all so pleased that they are now getting the rewards that they deserve.

Come on AFC and well done boys!!
